The targets given for the current year 2013-14 by the CPMG is circulated to all the post offices. Postmen are also given target to collect 50 speed post articles per month. This year targets are given to each Postmaster, PA, Postmen and GDS.
Why targets for everybody is a question in everyone's mind? If we test ourselves about the knowledge of the various services and products , out of 23 products , we are all having the knowledge of 3-4 products. Thus the remaining services and products are not able to reach to the customers because of not having full knowledge about those services which are really required to the public.
For instance there are good number of cases where the money is sent to foreign countries to meet the educational and other expenses by the parents and the relatives to the persons residing in other countries. On the other hand there are good number of cases where the persons are receiving the money from abroad. In our beat we are not able to talk to those persons on Videsh MO IMT or MoneyGram, with the persons who regularly receives letters from abroad. these are the real targeted customers who may avail those services from IndiaPost.
Regarding NPS the knowledge on this scheme is absolutely very poor .Pension for all .It is one of the best scheme that everyone has to subscribe those who are not having permanent pensions in their life. It is a must to everyone because pension will only the source of income after 70 years where earning power will come to zero. we are all leading a peaceful life today thinking that we are all entitled for pension till death. Still there are 98% of the population have no pension after 60/70 years. They are the real target to enroll for the scheme. We should not get discourage by the performance of the pension fund today. The pension what we are going to get after 80 years is the real benefit where no one pays at that age except the amount from the pension what we subscribed, It will be very noble job we are doing to those people if we made them to understand the scheme and made them to subscribe for the fund.
Iam proud to say that Iam working in a very division where people are very wise and talented. More than 400 postmen are daily visiting each and every houses in the division. But we never convert them as true marketing persons .Their services should not limited to delivery of the letters , they should be made very resourceful persons to the department. The new changes we can find only if the postmen raise to the occasion and act as true marketing persons in the department. In this regard we have invites applications for marketing from the postmen .Will postmen may join the exclusive marketing team.
The SPM has to educate all the postmen and other staff on all the products and services available to the public by conducting workshops , discussions on the weekend Saturdays by sitting together for one hour before leaving the office.

I find that a few Postal Manuals like FHB I, Vol VI Part I, II and III are not available in the indiapost website. I hope you will make efforts to get these volumes also uploaded.
